Jan Mills Spaeth, Ph.D., Founder & Owner of AJR, Litigation Consultant

Jan Mills Spaeth, Ph.D., is one of the most experienced and respected litigation consultants in the country. Since 1980, she has developed an impressive background in all aspects of trial consulting and settlement negotiation, including cases involving medical malpractice, product liability, contract disputes, wrongful death, and criminal matters. Working nationally, Dr. Spaeth has developed close affiliations with other successful litigation consulting firms to work jointly on ventures when client needs are best met by this approach.
Dr. Spaeth has written extensively on a wide variety of legal issues, particularly in the areas of jury selection, trial simulations, witness preparation and case strategy. She has been a seminar presenter, instructor, and guest speaker for a wide range of legal organizations, including the American Trial Lawyer's Association (ATLA), the National Business Institute, the U.S. Attorney's Office, the Arizona Trial Lawyers' Association, Arizona Attorneys for Criminal Justice, and the Arizona Society for Health Care Risk Management. She has also been a frequent guest on television and radio talk shows, and news broadcasts. Her government clients include the U.S. Attorney's Office, the Office of the Arizona Attorney General, the Pima County Attorney's Office, Indigent Defense Services, and numerous Public Defender Offices.
Dr. Spaeth has been an educator for the University of Arizona, Pima Community College, and Cochise Community College. Dr. Spaeth possesses B.A. degrees in both psychology and social welfare, an Interdisciplinary Master's Degree in communication and psychology, and a Doctorate degree in psychology. She is a member of the American Society of Trial Consultants, the American Psychological Association, the American Academy of Forensic Examiners, and Arizona Attorneys for Criminal Justice. Prior to 1980, Dr. Spaeth was employed as both a social worker and a research director for several governmental agencies, specializing in domestic violence and child abuse.
